WISER Scholarship Winners

This year’s first winner is Lafayette Phillips III. He will be graduating from James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. He will be attending the College of Visual Arts in New York City in the fall, majoring in animation and illustration. Lafayette helped organize an arts day for senior citizens in his community and has won several awards for his artwork. Most recently, he illustrated a children’s book that won an award for the illustration! Congratulations to Lafayette! The second winner is Donald Boose IV. He will be graduating from Falls Church High School in Falls Church, Virginia. He will be attending the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland in the fall, majoring in animation and game design. Donald has won several awards for his video game designs and is looking forward to learning more about game design! Congratulations to Donald! These young men are just two examples of the incredibly talented young people we have in our community!
